When an artiste is consistently delivering great quality music, both lyrically and production wise, there’s next to nothing they can musically do wrong.

Throughout Etana’s catalog, listeners have experienced her musical growth in tremendous ways and this, her fourth studio album, could easily be considered her zenith. Not only does she create music that she thinks people want to hear, but rather creates music that people need to hear. The bliss and inspirational undertone that’ll take hold of you through I Rise is priceless. From the powerful piano-laced opener Selassie is the Chapel, to the perfectly soulful closure on Jah Jah, the album wanders from purely following the soundscape of the here and now but focuses more on the message of the music.

Speaking to the feelings and emotions that everyone experiences, whether a follower of the Rastafarian faith or not, the heartfelt messages through the album’s entirety challenges listeners to look introspectively and explore their own feelings. If you are a fan of Etana then it is a must that you get this album. For everyone else, adding this album to your collection is highly recommended. Your musical palate will thank you for it.
