The Ultimate 2016 is a mashup of songs from Dancehall’s most popular artistes, lyricists and entertainers;
combining your favourite body shaking jams with head bopping music. This album is fit for building the vibes at a “lyme” with friends or keeping your energy up on a road trip. Similar to albums like the NOW series, this album allows you to have all of your favourite dancehall songs on one place.
Throughout the album the energy level changes, moving from intense dance with songs that loosen up your waistlines, to a more sombre mood with songs that make you want to “hol’ a medz”. There are some songs however, like Senior Killa’s “Woie Woie” that further diversifies the mix with a little light music humour. Despite the variations, you are guaranteed to be entertained from beginning to end.
As a strong dancehall mix the inclusion of a few substitutes would give it greater ratings as a captivating explosion of Dancehall music. The addition of other popular dancehall dance songs in place of some of the ones selected would increase its ability to create an atmosphere that has you moving and dancing to every song, increasing the level of entertainment with each new track. Some may appreciate the breather between tracks, but I believe dancehall should always make you want to “buss’ a move”.
The album features 15 chart topping dancehall songs. It boasts among its line up artistes such as Vybz Kartel,
Alkaline, Mavado, I-Octane and Bugle. It also includes club bangers such as “Way Up Stay Up” by Chi Ching Ching, “7 Eleven” by Dexta Daps, and “Hot Up” by Razor B.
