You probably heard his music long before being able to put a face to his name. This up and coming artiste, while new to the industry as an entertainer, is no newbie to the music industry or to the music world in general. Sypranna Purser, also known as Sippy T, can recall building his relationship with music from the early age of 7 and as fate would have it, has paved the way for his musical journey from band player, sound clasher, songwriter and manager to now entertainer.
At the age of 32, Sippy T is now ecstatic about embracing this new phase of his musical career. Describing his musical style as a fusion of dub, reggae and dancehall, he recounts his induction with great pride sharing that before even being able to physically reach the turntables, he was already participating in sound clashes while standing on crates. He also recalls music as an imminent part of his childhood as his father encouraged him and his 5 siblings from very early to play varying instruments – and this led to him adopting the drum as his personal favourite.
The emergence of Sippy T continued to evolve as he grew older and would fundamentally prepare him for his life today. He began paving his way in the industry as a songwriter and soon developed the knack for spotting and nurturing other talents. With that, he managed his cousin’s musical career for a while before his unfortunate passing. With over 15 years of songwriting experience under his belt and 5 years of music management, Sippy T is now ready to take the stage as well as his career to an all new level.
Today, his latest contributions to cultural music, ‘Every Move I Make’ and ‘Hold It Together’ can be heard on every radio station and is slowly making its way in international territories. In fact, he has already made performances internationally in New York and when we asked about the experience, he said; “The energy was well appreciated, it was a strong Caribbean crowd and the response was great.”
