Alpheus Johnson who goes by the stage name “Al Third” got his first taste of fame as a member of the group “One Third” following their Season-Three win in the Jamaican Talent Competition Digicel Rising Stars in 2006.
The group became a household name and enjoyed an impressive local and international career performing at many events and shows alongside noted entertainers across Jamaica and the Caribbean. Despite dominating the scene for a number of years, the trio has decided to pursue solo projects and Al Third is ready to regain his household presence, this time, as a solo artist.
Describing himself as an easygoing, family-oriented homebody, the Kingston born singer has always had a musical background, having started his journey in the choir at Excelsior High School. It is there that his love and passion for music was formed. This passion saw him join his first musical group called “Ink” in 2002 that unfortunately was a short-lived union. His determination however would give birth to the creation of “One Third” a few years later. The group decidedly entered the talent competition and walked away with the season-three title.Despite exploring solo projects from as early as 2011, Al Third is now even more driven to re-establish his musical notoriety. With a few singles already under his belt, Al has been promoting his most successful track to-date “Lone Face” on all social media platforms. Lone Face, one of the singles on Al’s 2017 EP “Endless Possibilities”, is a taste of what’s to come on his upcoming album. He describes his sound as “AL-ternative” reggae fused with world music and likens it to international sounds such as those of international artistes Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and Magic.Lone Face and all his other released solo projects from his EP can be found on his website www.althirdmusic.com. As Al journeys once more up the ladder of fame, we encourage you to stay tuned for the all the buzzz this talented musician is about to create.
