The ONE LOVE MUSIC FESTIVAL is a tribute to the life of global music icon, Bob Marley, who was born in Jamaica February 6, 1945.
February is celebrated globally as Black History Month, which coincides with this tribute to a man who continues to make a significant contribution towards the mental liberation of black people through his music.
“It is more than just a concert,” Cedella Marley, executive producer of the event and Bob Marley’s eldest child insists. She says the main purpose of the show is to accomplish things that epitomize the kind of vision her father had.
According to Cedella the staging of the event is to provide great music and to raise funds to support various projects that will improve the standard of living of its beneficiaries. Under the umbrella of the Bob Foundation and its partner, Rose Hall Development, significant work in inner-city communities will be funded.
“The Bob Marley Foundation will be targeting projects we have named, ‘Marley For Education’ and ‘Marley For Health’. Proceeds from the show will go towards supporting selected institutions within the sectors of health and education,” she disclosed.
