Oscar Pristorius sentenced to 5 years after being found guilty of culpable homicide of his then girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. The Steenkamp family was pleased with justice being served even though they wanted him to served a minimal of 10 years in prison.
The lawyers for Pistorius are still optimistic that the South African athlete will serve 10 months in prison and serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
Oscar killed his girlfriend on Valentine’s day of 2013, when he fired shots into the bathroom under the assumption that his girlfriend was an intruder.
