The twitter account of RussBuss Records– a local music studio deadset on discovering talent and producing fresh sounds tweeted: “Spotify finally available in Jamaica. love to see it.”
Media Presenter, producer, MC and voiceover talent, Debbie Bissoon used the opportunity to plug her podcast by tweeting: “You can now listen to my @momscanrelate podcast on @spotify here in Jamaica *happy mommy jiggle*.”

Though access to Spotify’s services will assist local artists in creating, discovering and building a career in the audio realm, it will also benefit listeners. First-time Spotify users can discover and enjoy new talent.
Spotify launching in 80+ international markets
However, Jamaica isn’t the only country that became compatible with Spotify recently. The audio streaming service became accessible in 80+ new markets across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America and is expected to expose new listeners from all over the world to a wide variety of genres.

Now, artists and listeners from Jamaica and other countries can indulge in the Spotify experience. Especially because Spotify aims to meet the unique needs of each market with various offerings like quality user experience.
“Listeners will be able to select and search from Spotify’s worldwide catalog when using the product, providing a personalized experience from day one. The home screen will surface personalized playlist programming for new listeners. The browse and search pages will feature worldwide content hubs, and adapt to the local market and the listener’s taste the more they use the service,” the article said.
On the whole, audio-enthusiasts are excited to accelerate the discovery of their content and ultimately, tap into the power of the platform.
