A white man sleeping under a bus shed in Jamaica? Ludicrous right? Such were the thoughts of theater goers as the opening scene of ‘Samson & Di Liar’ unfolded at the Little Little Theatre. Whoever could have fathomed such a thing? But there was Tony ‘Paleface’ Hendricks under a sheet of newspaper at a bus stop surrounded by the usual untidy trappings and accoutrement of a homeless man contently snoring away. Right away you knew you were in for a treat.

The story line surrounds Samson (Tony Hendricks), a proud but homeless Jamaican white man who has fallen on hard times but, still refuses to beg and loathes the company of others. He is a learned man who abhors fools and being a large enough sort, he can ward off thieves and wrongdoers easily. His world however, would soon collide with Godfrey McIntosh aka ‘Mawga Man’ (Ricky Rowe), a craft character who is quick on his feet and even quicker to concoct stunts to con money from others.
