Scientists are undecided whether time travel is any at all possible, but I’m convinced the all-new Range Rover Velar is a vehicle from the future. This SUV offers more than just the everyday ground clearance; the all-new Range Rover Velar has added a revolutionary touch to the expectations most drivers give for wanting an SUV. This new Range Rover has a striking contemporary presence that is poised to command attention. A brand new addition to the Range Rover family, the Velar has a familiar Range Rover design architecture and boasts twin sliding armrests, configurable mood lighting and an all-new touch pro dual system which allows key information to be split between the upper and lower 10-inch HD touch screens, giving the option to tailor the information displayed according to your own preference.
My personal favourite feature is the recently-introduced plush door handles which is a first for the Land Rover brand. The Velar’s door handles smoothly slide from inside the door. It’s not just a breathtaking feature; it also reduces drag on the vehicle and improves efficiency. In fact, this is the most aerodynamically-efficient Land Rover ever produced, with a drag coefficient of only 0.32.
The new Velar is big on infotainment and has raised the bar to an all new height. With the debut of advanced technology such as the state-of-the-art Touch ProDuo infotainment system, featuring two HD 10-inch touch screens for unrivaled functionality and intuitive operation, along with super-slim Matrix-Laser LED headlights, it’s no wonder the Velar is considered a new statement of innovation. Elardinho Godhino Jr., Regional Business Manager at Jaguar Land Rover said; “The Velar has carved out its own space in the world of
luxury SUVs. With its unrivaled heritage and superior design, it is undoubtedly a trendsetter.”
Boasting an interactive driver display, the Range Rover Velar ensures you‘re always entertained, informed and connected. It features an optional 12.3″ high-definition
Interactive Driver Display that can receive and project a vast amount of driving information, entertainment and active safety data including navigation, phone and media. Its high resolution ensures the utmost clarity and its refined processing engine delivers smooth moving pin sharp graphics. Features can be accessed on either the Interactive Driver Display or the Touch Pro Duo Touch screens.
The Range Rover Velar features all-round exterior LED lighting as standard. LED lights are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle and are more fuel-efficient as they use less energy. The quality of light produced is closer to daylight conditions, so driving at night becomes less tiring and rear fog lights help ensure the vehicle is visible in all conditions.
There are six engine choices available for the Velar catering to both petrol and diesel. For diesel lovers, there are the D180 and D240 Ingenium 2,0 litre 4-cylinder Turbo and Twin Turbocharged engines that produces 430Nm and 500NM of torque respectively, while the D300 Twin Turbocharged engine produces 700Nm of torque and is ideal for higher power and torque demand usage with exceptional drive-ability. Meanwhile, petrol lovers can enjoy either the P250 or P300 2,0 litre 4-cylinder engines both of which deliver outstanding fuel economy and driveability. Finally, the 3,0 litre V6 380PS Supercharged Petrol engine produces 450Nm of torque and is the top of the range for ultimate performance.
