It’s a wonderful feeling to get into a groove of exercising and changing your diet and enjoying the changes your body has been making consistently week after week. But what happens when suddenly everything stops? The scale has stopped moving down even though you exercise regularly. You are pushing more weights in your workout but the scale is just not reflecting your efforts. This is so discouraging. Well, I’m here to help you out of this funk and continue the path to greatness with these helpful tips!
Get Measuring!
Many times, the scales stop showing but the changes are still happening. Remember to use a tape measure and record your arms, bust/chest, waist, hips and thighs, you could still be shrinking! Or better yet look how loosely your clothes starts fitting, what a great feeling it is to have a problem or needing new clothes because your body is
transforming.
Switch It Up!
Sometimes we are stuck in a routine of the same exercises Monday to Friday; after a while our body’s fall into the routine and get bored. Therefore, it’s recommended to try other exercises or sports after a month or just change the weights you would be pushing. This confuses the body so it can never get used to the motions. This challenges the muscle and encourages them to keep working. Try swimming once a week or taking a hike or walk around your community few days a week to add something new to breaking a sweat.
Am I Eating Right?
Sometimes it’s just as simple as changing your diet. We honestly eat more than we exercise. If we are not putting the right fuel in our body, we can’t expect it to work as efficiently as we would want. So, if food is posing a challenge consult a nutritionist to probably increase your protein, cut back on the carbs and put more fibre in your diet to suit the goals you want for your body.
