The euphoric presence of Alisteer Nelson is best described as ebullient, charismatic and adept as he commands a passion for excellence that permeates not only in his professional life but extends to his personal interfaces. The St. James native is an accomplished academic in his own right having excelled during his tenure at Munro College, where he was Head Prefect and also captain of the school’s track and field team. He later received a full Sports Scholarship to the University of the West Indies Mona where he read for an undergraduate Degree in International Relations.
“Alisteer Nelson is an example of the possibilities that exist when resilience, tenacity and fervour are complimented by the belief in oneself that any dream we envision, no matter how colossal, is tenable.”
Alisteer has always maintained an active interest in the world of hospitality. From his early days in the Tourism Action Club to the numerous summer jobs in the hospitality industry, his passion for tourism intensified over the years having been exposed to opportunities which eventually led him to the then Sunset Beach property. Though his expertise at the time was not sales, his potential was recognized by the then Sales Manager who decided to invest in his development, which saw him begin to excel within the department, having been awarded a promotion within his first year on the sales team.
In his current designation as the Director of Sales at the Sunscape Cove and Sunscape Splash resorts, Alisteer has amassed an impeccable professional reputation as a zealous and invested young executive with a sharp mind and formidable skills. The depth of his abilities has seen him play an integral role in the success of prestigious hotel brands on the North Coast. The opening of Breathless Montego Bay and the hotel’s hosting of Smile Jamaica in conjunction with the Jamaica Tourist Board is ranked as one of Alisteer’s more memorable professional achievements, in addition to the promotion to his current post where he is the only Jamaican DOS within the AMResorts Chain of 52 hotels in the Caribbean and Mexico.
