The number of reported Chikungunya cases in Jamaica has now reached 21, as of Friday, August 29. The reported cases have been in the parishes of: St. Thomas, St. Catherine, St. Ann and Kingston and St. Andrew.

The numbers are expected to escalate with increased rainfall expected over the hurricane season, as more stagnant water will pile up around the country, increasing the breeding territories for mosquitoes.
