Describing her creations as a natural escape, propelling positivity, Coke hopes her designs from natural stone, sea glass, zinc, coconuts, copper and crystals bring love and light to her customers. “Every single piece is made with an incredible amount of love and thought, sometimes I’ll walk around, picking up different materials and I see the beauty in them long before it becomes jewellery. I enjoy going to the beach and finding, sea glass or wood that has been naturally tumbled by the ocean so there is tons of character in them” shared Coke.
Creating a truly Jamaican, dynamic collection of art is front and center for the 35-year-old empath who is currently employed to the FDR Resort. A family trade of sorts, she admits her decision to pursue her career was influenced by her mother who also worked in tourism.
“It’s just an amazing experience, I’m able to display and sell my pieces as well as interact with other people from all over the world and I think that’s one of the most valuable opportunities, meeting people who may have different ideas, perspectives and understandings than you. I love it, and they love my designs. They love anything that is Jamaican and even though I get some of my crystals from England since they are hard to source locally, its still a Jamaican product”.
