Optical Outlet Jamaica Limited has been servicing the Jamaican people with exceptional, top of the line eye care, eye frames and lenses for over twenty years. Figuring out what frames and lenses match your personal style can be a daunting task. However, at Optical Outlet they have everything you need to take your vision to the next level. Their collection includes some of the most exclusive, name brand frames and lenses all at an affordable price. Buzzz Magazine had a chat with the CEO Ms. Rosemary Lee to learn all things Optical Outlet.
Their extensive range of lenses are incomparable. “Lenses include single vision, bifocal and progressive. They come with additional features like transition (gets dark in the sun and clear inside), blue block (filters harmful blue rays from the computer, tv and other screens, anti-reflective coating (provides protection from glare caused by sunlight and oncoming vehicles at night),” said Ms. Lee. But what’s a good lens without that flawless frame to match? Optical Outlet focuses on providing frames that are unique and economical while still being trendy. “We are exclusive to brands
such as Linea Roma and Reeva, which are the top brands in South America, XXL for the larger fit among other brands. We put our customers first, whether you’re covered with insurance or not. Our after service and 6-month warranty is also a part of our package,” said Ms. Lee.
After you book your appointment and receive your prescription it is then time to choose your ideal lens and frame. Once you have found a suitable option, your pair is ready as early as the next day to a few weeks based on the specifics of your order. One tip that Ms. Lee shares for first time buyers is the importance of choosing something within your comfort zone, something that you feel good wearing.
“A common misconception is that prescription glasses can’t protect your eyes from the sun’s rays. At Optical Outlet we offer Transition lenses, so once your eyes are exposed to sunlight, they gradually get darker to protect them. Another misconception is that people with prescription glasses are restricted from playing sports. There are special glasses made for playing sports safely and they won’t fall off the face. Another is, that taking breaks from wearing your glasses is good for your eyes. Your eyes don’t become dependent on prescription glasses. Taking off your glasses to supposedly give your eyes rest will only end up straining them more, and faster,” said Ms. Lee.
