For many of us, our lives are so busy that it seems like a perpetual spin cycle, as we are forever on the go. But when it comes to taking care of our clothing, there is just no excuse to turn up looking like you just rolled out of bed. In other words, wear the clothes, don’t let it wear you. The key to having a wardrobe that is both functional and fashion forward is not only buying quality
items but maintaining them. Your washing machine should become your ‘BFF’- you unload into it and it washes away all your problems, leaving you feeling brand new. To ensure that your clothing and your machine remain in good condition.
BUZZZ Magazine compiled a list of items you should definitely avoid putting into your washer or dryer. If you don’t want to throw away good money, do not throw these items in your washing machine!
1. Your kids!
I am serious! People have actually put their toddlers in the machine thinking that it makes for a cute photo, a fun place to play hide and seek or an easy way to get attention on social media. Do not do it as this is extremely dangerous. Even if you do not start up the machine children can literally get stuck in there. It has happened!
2. Throw Pillow
Sometimes they have a tiny hole or two that will tear open in the machine and spread sponge and lint all over, which is very hard to clean up.
3. Lacy Lingerie/ Bras
Their under-wiring and hooks can damage the machine as well as tear other clothing. Hand wash these delicacies both for safety and to ensure that you get more mileage out of them.
4. Sneakers
Not only is it unsanitary but a lot of modern types sneakers are in large part rubber and not cloth and can, therefore, be damaged by the washer or dryer.
