How the Grinch Stole Christmas

First on the list is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This movie was released in the year 2000 still makes its rounds on the TV screen every year leading up to Christmas. The comedic factor that Jim Carrey brings to role is unmatched and the visuals capture Christmas perfectly. It really brings the whole season to life.

Home Alone

Next up we have Home Alone. This timeless classic released in 1990 can be considered a Christmas movie because the events take place during Christmas time, and the storyline celebrates the importance of love and family relationships. Honourable mention goes to Home Alone 2: Lost In New York that beautifully highlights all the magic of a New York Christmas.

Elf

Elf is a movie that pokes fun at the whole concept of Santa Claus living in the north pole with his elves. When you watch wellknown comedic actor Will Ferrell take on the role as Buddy, the Elf, you will surely be left in stitches from laughing so hard. It’s a perfect ten on the feel-good movie meter.

This Christmas

This Christmas is a 2007 holiday movie that depicts an authentic, imperfect family Christmas experience. Family members that may not get along; things not going according to plan; plus all the different aspects of the holidays. A movie that has to be on a holiday list is Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer (1964). This Classic holiday film is nostalgia at its finest. From the cinematography to the music and the stories. It is the ideal family flick that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Now, moving on to songs. The holiday songs in this list are a mix of both international and local Jamaican holiday tunes. We can all agree that Mariah Carey’s entire Christmas album is holiday gold! But for the sake of the list lets narrow it down to the top two songs. ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ and ‘Oh Holy Night’. Both songs are without a doubt Christmas anthems that will last for years to come. The moment you hear these songs on the radio you automatically know it’s about to be that time of year again!
