This is especially true as it relates to male fashion as society now embraces the new fashion-forward man, the metro sexual, who celebrates his passion for fashion just as he would his love of cars, sports, business, and any other interests that gain the attention of the modern man.
Gone are the days when women would dominate the arena of fashion, turning heads with their images splashed across the cover of fashion and lifestyle magazines or eliciting the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ as they stroll down the catwalk.
As society has evolved, so too has men’s taste for fashion, as it has become more sophisticated. Men, too, have become body-conscious and are busting out of their closets in character T-shirts with bold colours, such as pink, once considered an effeminate shade. Women now stare in awe and whisper while their male counterparts rock bold designs, including paisley, floral and polka dot button-ups, at times complemented with well-designed blazers or bowties.

Carlton Brown
A household name for male attire, Carlton Brown has forged his way into the closets of stylish men across the length and breadth of Jamaica. His suits are trendy, sophisticated, stylish and completely original. Carlton’s humble beginnings were nurtured by his foster mother Martha “Mommy” Wallace, who was a seamstress, and had Carlton stringing needles for days. Needless to say, he didn’t ever lose a needle and thread race in school.
Growing up in foster care has given Carlton a greater appreciation of family time, which he now shares with his wife and their children – two boys and a girl – with whom he plans to create lasting memories. They provide the drive for him to be successful and to fulfil his dreams to be a world-renowned fashion designer, and not to worry, his work speaks for itself.
Marc-Anthony Chin
Have you ever been to a session and the DJ just seems to get you? He’s playing all the right songs, vibrant, entertaining and just have you bopping your head to every new song selection. That’s what it’s like spending a day with Marc Anthony Chin. He has the ability to make you want to get into some good old shenanigans.
Being in the usic industry for over ten years does impact his family time but he balances it off with scheduled vacations with his fiancee and dinners by mom. With music, Marc has had the opportunity to literally travel the entire world and rub shoulders with sheiks and presidents, while maintaining his humble and positively infectious attitude towards life.
Desron Graham
For the past 18-plus years Desron Graham has been with his extended family at the National Commercial Bank in various capacities, and he unequivocally says he is in his dream job.
Desron hails from the parish of Westmoreland and spent his earlier years growing up in rural Jamaica with his siblings and parents.
He fondly speaks of his high school years and how it helped to mould him into a determined business man. A very private but patriotic Jamaican, he explains clearly that there is “nuh place like yaad”, which is the main reason he returned to Jamaica after his studies at the university in the United Kingdom.
Jordan McClure
With his height and modelesque physique, Jordan has a personality that is full of life and happiness. He also has an his intense love for music, which he has been involved in for most his life – since his high school days. Being classically trained does add to his ease into the industry, and the ability to have an eye for detail has allowed him to build a unique style of his own.
Jordan is an avid dancehall lover, which allows him to spend his free time living a full and entertaining life with his close network of friends. He works long hours in the studio and still finds the energy to jetset all over the world for work as a music producer. Jordan enjoys a good tennis game whenever the time allows. With an unpredictable routine, as works pops up at a moment’s notice, its hard to pinpoint Jordan’s next move, and as such his time is precious and he ensures he spends it with his daughter and three younger sisters.
Garfene Grandison
Garfene is considered to be a flamboyant, outgoing and an active guy. Would you be surprised if I told you that he is shy, hard-working, and the kind of guy would rather hang with friends at home drinking his favourite Menage A Trois Red Wine? What is evident is his dedication to his job,his drive to live a full and wholesome life and his determination to blaze a trail of success in his wake.
As a country boy at heart, he still speaks fondly of his escapades in his favourite mango tree in St. Mary. He professes that he is still a good climber, so your mango is never safe. Garfene moved to Kingston as he had a burning drive to be great, where he got his first job at Teenage Observer, then went on to the The Gleaner, Flow Jamaica and now Sagicor in the Corporate Social Responsibility Division of Sagicor Group.
Imru James
Imru James is an undeclared Top Chef in this group of stylish men. He spends his free time preparing delectable dishes like Grilled Salmon with Quinoa and steamed veggies or some good old rice and peas and chicken. When he’s not cooking up a storm Imru can be found parish hopping the island of Jamaica as he visits the different rivers and beach attractions.
Imru has been with Red Stripe for the better part of 11 years and loves the challenges that the marketing departments though at him each day. He balances the demand for his job and his drive to live a full life with high energy activity as well as relaxing with his favorite bottle of Riesling white and binge watching his favorite show.
Oneal Johnson
A complete enigma wraps up Oneal’s personality, it takes some doing to peel back all the layers to expose his life. He is an easygoing, family-oriented, driven individual who has a passion for gym and football, so much so that he plays with Harbour View F.C. One would think that being a pilot he would be a globe-trotter with vast experience in different cultures, but this he does on his own time as he prefers to spend time with his close-knit family.
With an early start on being an independent and sustainable man, Oneal realised his passion for flying while he was in university in Jamaica studying construction, and so he decided his itch for flying was something he should not ignore, and as they say the rest is history. As important as flying is to Oneal, he is also a philanthropist with an active role in the Swallowfield Learning Project, which he spends his time building.
Samuel McKenzie
Samuel McKenzie lives his life being grateful for every aspect of his life: his success in business, his beautiful daughter and partner, and the experiences that life has offered him in love and challenges. Sam is an awe-inspiring and spiritual man who is passionate about cars, growth, fitness and reading life-changing novels from world-renowned authors.
His bold and powerful personality can be felt by just being in his presence as his love of God, family and work permeates through him. Being a new dad to a vivacious and inquisitive one-year-old baby, Amira, Stephen Miller’s life has changed immensely. Now fulfilling his bucket list of watching a Manchester United match live at Old Trafford, rediscovering his love for golf and travelling to Paris will be experienced with his daughter.
After flirting with civil engineer at Pennsylvania State University, Stephen stumbled into marketing by successfully planning and executing some very successful parties eight years ago when he started at Flow Jamaica, and he hasn’t looked back since. Marketing is a passion for him as he revels in the rewards of a dynamic career that allows him to see his work come to Stephen’s number one pastime is playing and watching football, and he is so lucky that, at one year old, Amira will sit and watch his matches with him, like a real trooper.
