The Jamaican Government is determined not to be caught on the back foot in the wake of the Ebola epidemic.
Prime Minister, the Hon. Mrs. Portia Simpson-Miller disclosed in a press conference that first responders will be trained in regards to handling a possible Ebola outbreak in the island.
She went onto indicate that protective gear for health workers had already been obtained and “quarantine facilities and equipped medical isolation wards are also being established. At the same time, we have initiated efforts to acquire necessary screening equipment for the island’s port of entry”, Mrs. Simpson-Miller explained.
