School is back in full swing! However, before this current calm, parents and guardians were rushing around in search for the best ‘back to school’ bargains.

Getting all the basic necessities for school-aged children in today’s tight economy is becomingincreasingly hard not just in Jamaica but, worldwide. Supporting our parent readers – and a mother herself, Buzzz writer Sancia Campbell shares tips and suggestions on how to create a successful ‘back to school’ budget to help you and your child/children settle back into routine, simultaneously monitoring stress levels and the dent of your bank account.

Taking full advantage of ‘school being back in’, Campbell’s advice will allow you to think about your recent purchases and study how much you spent this current school term thus preparing you for the next ‘back to school’ on a successful budget.

Of course, back to school on any kind of budget is determined by your child’s age and what stage they are in the education system. While primary and preparatory school may cost less than secondary or High School, each institution has its own set of specific requirements, which may increase or decrease the cost.
