Summer 2016 has come to an end. But for three lucky Digicel customers, the memories of Brazil will live on forever. Just before the start of the exciting 2016 Rio Olympics, Nandi-Gail Stanton, Kenolee Hamilton and Sanalee Reid each won an all-expense paid trip for two in Digicel’s Sprint to Brazil promotion.
Stanton won just by adding credit to her phone, while Hamilton won after playing Digicel’s Social Media Trials Challenge. For Sanalee, the gift of credit from a friend abroad was the winning ticket and she was joined by high school friend, Dave, for the trip to Brazil.
Ten whole days in South America’s largest country were filled with fun and exciting activities; from attending all the races at the Olympic Stadium to visiting the famous Santa Teresa steps and the legendary Maracanã Stadium, all three winners had an unforgettable time in Rio.
For Stanton, who is from Portmore in St. Catherine, the trip was simply amazing. Joined by her boyfriend, Oniel Miller, she recounts the best moments of her trip to Rio.
“Overall, it was an awesome experience. I made a lot of memories and it’s definitely something I got to tick off my bucket list. I really enjoyed Jamaica House because I got to dance and I enjoyed every second of it.”
She added, “My favourite thing about the trip was interacting with the Brazilians and learning about their culture. I wasn’t a big fan of the food because it was far different from what I’m used to, but it was definitely worth trying. The thing I’m happiest about though, is the fact that I got to share this experience with my boyfriend, O’Neil, since travelling the world together is something we’ve always talked about doing and this was just a first step towards that.”
Kenolee Hamilton, a farmer from Clarendon, also sang nothing but high praises for the trip. After all, her dream had finally come true.
“All my life, I just hoped that one day I would get to go to the Olympics and watch Usain Bolt run and Digicel helped to make that dream come true for me. I had a wonderful time going to the stadium, going on the tours around Rio and just relaxing and having fun with my sister and some really great people,” shared Hamilton.
Similarly, Reid, a nurse from St. Ann, said that the trip was a great experience for her. Accompanied by her friend, Dave, who sent her the winning top-up from the United States of America, Reid noted that being Jamaican made her trip to Brazil so much more enjoyable.
