Grace Foods Intensifies the Champs Experience with a Wellness-Driven Athletes Village

Grace Foods has once again redefined its role in Jamaica’s most iconic high school sporting event. At the 2026 staging of the Inter-Secondary School Boys and Girls Championships universally known as Champs—the brand introduced an elevated Athletes Village concept designed not just to support competition, but to enhance the full athlete experience.

Set against the electric backdrop of Kingston during Champs week, the initiative brought a distinctly modern, lifestyle-forward approach to sports recovery. Rooted in Grace’s “Good Move” agenda, the Athletes Village became a sanctuary of balance, where elite performance met intentional rest, nutrition, and mental reset.

“Grace has been a consistent supporter of athlete development in Jamaica, and our nearly two decades of sponsorship of Champs reflect that ongoing commitment,” said Ingrid Medwinter. “For many of Jamaica’s great athletes, Champs has been the foundation of their journey, and we are proud to play a role in strengthening that legacy.”

More than a branded space, the Village functioned as a carefully curated environment—one that mirrored the global shift toward holistic athlete care. Over five days, competitors from across the island moved between events and recovery with ease, accessing hydration stations, protein-rich meals, and restorative therapies designed to sustain peak output.

Inside, the experience blended functionality with atmosphere: Grace Kitchens Café offerings, a Mighty Malt fuel station, tea service, and relaxed lounge areas coexisted with physiotherapy support, including massage therapy and kinesiology taping. The result was a seamless fusion of sport science and lifestyle comfort—an approach increasingly seen on the international stage.

“The response has been extremely encouraging,” noted Shannon Grant. “We’ve seen firsthand how both athletes and coaches benefit from having a space like this to recharge between events. It brings a sense of comfort and support during an otherwise intense week.”

Adding a layer of inspiration, Jamaican track icons Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Hansle Parchment made appearances throughout the week, connecting directly with student-athletes and reinforcing the continuum from Champs hopeful to global champion.

Parchment, reflecting on his own journey, emphasized the importance of recovery in high-stakes competition. “At Champs, where athletes compete across multiple days, recovery becomes just as important as performance,” he shared. “Having a space to properly refuel, rest, and mentally reset can make a significant difference.”

By opening the Athletes Village to all participating schools, Grace Foods underscored a commitment to accessibility-ensuring that the benefits of elite-level recovery and nutrition were not reserved for a select few, but shared across Jamaica’s next generation of talent.

In an era where the global sports conversation increasingly centers on wellness, longevity, and performance optimization, Grace’s Athletes Village stands as a compelling blueprint, one that positions Champs not just as a competition, but as a holistic athlete experience with international relevance.
