Launched in October 2014, the smart phones became available on the Jamaican market in February 2015, featuring a sophisticated and delicate design of all metal. In fact, the product marks the first time that Samsung has embraced an all metal design, following its experiment with the Galaxy Alpha and Note 4. Available in white, black, silver, gold, pink and blue; they are the first Samsung handsets in recent times that do not have a removable back panel, though there is a microSD slot on the side of both. Speaking at the Jamaica launch held at the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites, Key Accounts Manager for Samsung Caribbean, Kenneth Moore emphasized that “we make smart phones for all different target markets and the A3 and A5 are the best smart phones for young consumers. We are really trying to get them to be expressive of it is that they are.”
