Wine is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grape juice. Wines have three colours: red, white, and rose and also three types, still/table, sparkling, and fortified wines. Not unlike the variety of mangoes that we have, e.g. East Indian, Julie, Number 11 and so on, so are the many types of grapes used in winemaking. Some common grape names are: Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and so on. The typical packaging for wines is 750ml bottles sealed with cork or screw cap ranging in alcohol by volume (ABV) from 5% to 15.5%.
