According to Novia, romance was not on her mind when she left for Antigua, since she had recently ended an unhealthy relationship. Her trip was for relaxation, but things would take an interesting turn one fateful night when she went out with a group of friends. “We were there awaiting this person they described as always late because he must make an entrance. Hours later, someone at the table announced he had arrived and my head took a sharp turn to the door. I felt something I can’t describe when I saw this gentleman standing there,” Novia explained.
he two were introduced and Troy agreed to show her around over the next few days, since his friend was busy. Troy says he kept things platonic at first under the assumption that Novia was his friend’s girlfriend. But an aggressive Novia would not have it. “I was just helping a friend to treat someone new to the country. But then we were driving along one night and she made a couple moves on me and it felt really weird. I didn’t know what to think, so I thought I’d just be a gentleman and ignore it. Instead I used the journey to get to know her some more and that’s when I started to develop an
attraction to her. I then got clarification that she wasn’t our friend’s girlfriend after all,” he explained.
