The poolside of the AC Marriott Hotel in Kingston came alive when select guests and media practitioners were invited to the intimate listening session for the debut album “My Journey” by recording artiste Dilly Chris. The evening gave patrons the opportunity to listen to the artiste’s full album which features 12 tracks produced by the likes of Izybeats, D Money Muisc, Maurice Gregory Music and a host of other top notch producers.
“My Journey” as the name suggests is the by-product of the hard work and determination that Dilly Chris has invested into bringing himself closer to the realization of his dream of becoming a world renowned dancehall artiste. His passion for music was ignited at the age of 8, when he was inspired by his Aunt and Uncle who were also heavily involved in the dancehall music scene. Since then, he has always had his eye on music and its pursuit as a career.
Describing his sound as a blend of R&B and Dancehall, Dilly Chris hopes his music will not only create entertaining vibes for his listeners but will also inspire and encourage them through the positive, conscious and fun energy that he promotes. His inspiration for creating music is influenced by the beat. According to the artiste, when deciding what to write and sing about, “the beat takes me to where I have to go” and shares that his ingredients for creating quality music all comes down to the topic and melody.
Throughout his growing career, he has had the opportunity to work alongside the group Voicemail and hopes to one day expand his list of collaborations to include megastars Dexta Dapps and international recording artiste Drake. The artiste also has big dreams of one day performing on the global stage of pageantry at either the Miss Universe or Miss World coronation shows.
Dilly Chris hopes his music will not only create entertaining vibes for his listeners but will also inspire and encourage them through the positive, conscious and fun energy that he promotes.
