Bacchanal 2018 Jamaica

Bacchanal 2018 Jamaica

Bacchanal Jamaica has engendered its own culture not to compete with other festivities in the Caribbean but to join in the celebrations with a Jamaican flare bring vibes and ‘one love’ energy every time. While other soca nations host their carnival season before the holy season of Lent, Jamaica Carnival begins on Easter Sunday, after Lent.

Bacchanal Jamaica has been serving up soca goodness since its inception and definitely shows signs of continuing along this trajectory. Kicking off their events as early as December, they wet the appetites of anxious feters showing off new costume designs and introducing new soca tunes with their band launch. If you are anything short of certain what you will be getting in the months to come, you are sure to get a taste at this inaugural event.

Moving into the new year, soca junkies are treated with a grand opening night party at Mas Camp which sets the pace for the weekly Bacchanal Fridays event for the weeks to come. And just in case you weren’t ready for all that jumping’ and wuckin’, there are free Socasise sessions every other week to get you in tip top shape, at least for Road March.

Beach J’ouvert and Bacchanal J’ouvert are other highlight events of the Bacchanal Jamaica calendar. Adapting the original concept of J’ouvert coming out of the soca capital, Trinidad, these fetes feature jab jabs covered in just about anything from head to toe – whether it’s water, chocolate, powder, mud or paint. Imagine being covered in some form of coolant, the sun beating down on you and soca, calypso, or fusion music regulating your heartbeat and no control over your feet. That’s the J’ouvert spirit.

Bacchanal Rebirth 2018 also features events such as Frenchmen Party, Bae Watch and Rum for breakfast.
