Six Iranians who were arrested in May of this year for appearing in a video dancing to Pharrell Williams’ song Happy have now been sentenced, with five of them getting 6 month sentences and the director receiving a one year sentence along with 91 lashes.
The dancers violated Islamic law that prohibits dancing with people of the opposite sex and the women were charged with a second charge of not wearing a headscarf.
