Marcue’s Musical Journey

Marcue’s Musical Journey

Mark Anthony Hudson Jr. who goes by the stage name “Marcue” discovered his passion for music when he first heard the musical stylings of Michael Jackson. Since then, his desire for music has been undeniable. His earliest musical exposure came in 2007 when he formed a group by the name of Fusion with his childhood friends. Despite their shared passion for music, their differences in direction led to the eventual dissolution of the band.

This unfortunate circumstance did not deter the young musician who dedicated his time to honing his craft while attending the Edith Dalton James High School. He would then gain further exposure as a background vocalist at his father’s production company, Stone Cold Productions.

His humility, drive and dedication are some of the qualities he identifies that keeps him focused on his goals. Music is more than a talent for this young artist, sharing that “music is my life; my everything”. His hunger to improve his craft has him always ready and willing to learn to become better and deliver to his fans music in its truest art form.

Marcue’s Musical Journey

Despite being an independent artist, he has had the privilege to work with some notable names in the industry thus far, collaborating on the track “My Favourite Song” with Buju Banton, which was also remixed with Vybz Kartel and Kent Jones. He also has other collaborations yet to be released which feature Capleton and Rampage, known from Busta Rhymes’ Flipmode Squad. He dreams of collaborating with artists such as Beenie Man, Drake, Sean Paul and Beres Hammond, just to name a few, hopefully in the near future. He has equally had the privilege of working alongside producers such as Sly & Robbie, Jazwad, Zj Ice, Caspa among many others

When it comes to his music, he wants to create music that heals; songs that resonate with the listeners and can serve as the soundtrack to their lives; articulating the good, bad, happy, and sad and everything in between. He describes his sound as being happy, soulful music and hopes that his songs will transcend territory and represent the Jamaican culture on the international scene. While he describes his vocal strength as being pop like in genre, he is currently working on his EP which he describes will be a dancehall reggae fusion with pop vocals
