With experience, talent and a hunger for success, Roger Mitchell is ready to bring new life and melody to the Jamaican music scene. Mitchell, who goes by the stage name “MitchDiSinga” is no stranger to music, creativity and the performing arts. MitchDiSinga began his journey in music as a member of the popular group ARP (Always Ready to Perform). The group gained notoriety in the mid-90s with their youthful charisma and smooth R&B vocals which complimented rich dancehall rhythms. However after the group disbanded, Mitch continued his musical pursuits which today sees him maintaining connections with producers and musicians like Jamaican musical icon Buju Banton, whom he met while a part of ARP.
The singer-songwriter started cultivating his talents from a youthful age where he would spend time writing poems in addition to honing his skills in drawing. Since then, music has always had a profound impact on his development and desire to become an artist; recalling his strong attraction to the art form and the commencement of his song writing journey at 8 years old when he wrote his first song. In addition to his vocal and writing exposure, the artist also became exposed to instruments after his father taught him to play the guitar. He has always found ways to expand his musicality and gained further experience as a competitor in the Tastee talent competition at 13 years old.
His background in music and passion for performing is what has propelled MitchDiSinga on his current mission to be music’s “next big thing”. Blessed with a strong vocal presence and melodies that sooth the ear, he likens his sound unto that of International Superstar Akon. In addition to his vocal abilities, his prolific skills in song writing has afforded him the opportunity to work alongside and write songs for some of Jamaica’s legendary producers and artists including world renowned production duo Sly and Robbie (producing the hit single “Want No More”) and reggae music heavyweight producers Don Corleone (for the hit single “Give Me A Call”), Donovan Germaine, and Lloyd “John John” James for whom he has recorded a slew of hit singles.
