Amid the continuing global pandemic, everyone needs something to hold on to that brings them comfort; to reggae artist PANIC, music is that source of comfort.

The entertainer, whose real name is Tom Jones; named after the famous international singer, hopes that he too can make an impact and have his music serve as a source of relief and comfort. For Jones, music has been a part of his DNA. He started his career in the late 90s as a producer, engineer and song writer for John Shop Records in New York. During that time, he became the lead singer of PANIC and the Rebel Emergency, a rock reggae group which toured the North Americas and released the album “Captured by a Vision”.

His journey however took a detour as Jones spent the better part of thirteen and a half years incarcerated before being released on August 29, 2019. Since then and after more than a decade in prison, his experience has transformed how he interprets and crafts music. PANIC, who describes his music as a blend of old school and new school, is focused on creating music with positive messages that inspire audiences while still delivering high entertainment value. He believes too many popular songs glorify negativity and are about creating shock value rather than uplifting and providing positive entertainment. It is in this regard that he seeks to stand out as an artiste whose music can be both entertaining and filled with positivity.

As part of his mission to transform the delivery of music, he has assumed the responsibility of mentoring young upcoming artistes and imparting his knowledge onto them. Through his independent movement “After 13 Music”, PANIC mentors young artistes ranging from ages 19 years to 24 years on the business of music and the

importance of the not skipping steps. He believes in creating organic music and supporting and collaborating with any artistes; whether upcoming or established, whose music resonates with the message he promotes. Jones shared that he loves politics and giving back to communities and individuals in any way that he can. He is also the father of a 17 year old son who he boasts to have a very good relationship with; referring to himself as a ‘cool dad’ and expressing his pride in the talent of his son as a musician.
