Rebel Salute 27 years! Not out!

To its patrons, affectionately called Saluters, Rebel Salute is more than just a music festival. It’s a spiritual Rennaisance that blends message music, edutainment and the best in authentic Jamaican Artistic expressions.

 

Based in the garden parish of St. Ann at the picturesque Grizzlys Plantation Cove, Rebel Salute has evolved from a one day earth strong celebration for its founder Tony Rebel, into a calendar event for music lovers, food adventurers and the culturally curious.

January 2020 will mark the 27th consecutive staging of the event. With a strict No Profanity, No Weapons, No Alcohol and No Meat (excluding fish) policy, each restriction brings to light, creativity which adds to the endearing quality of the festival’s experience. Start with a stroll through the food village and indulge in carefully curated Ital cuisine, decadent vegan specialities, live food, natural juices and fruits from over 30 food vendors. The Artisan village is equally impressive, showcasing some of Jamaica’s most talented jewelry and fashion designers, artists, writers, product and craft artisans.The festival culminates at the Rebel Salute Center Stage, the heart of the Festival. A platform that has showcased musical giants including Jimmy Cliff, The Marleys, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Queen Ifrica, Maxi Priest, Dawn Penn, Aswad and John Holt. It has also ushered in a new generation of roots and culture purveyors like Chronixx, Koffee, Protoge and Romain Virgo.Rebel Salute continues to be the ultimate showcase for home grown local and international musical talent. This two day display of exceptional music, food and crafts are a testimony to the preservation of our roots and culture.
