Tosh Alexander: Worth the Wait!

Tosh Alexander: Worth the Wait! Tosh Alexander: Worth the Wait!

Jamaica has been making major strides internationally through some of our legendary icons. So much so, it has laid the platform for up-and-coming artistes to make a mark on the international stage. Tosh Alexander is one such determined diva – with undeniable talent and a striking image-she has had an ease of transition.

A simple island girl, she remembers her Vaz Preparatory days, where she struck such a powerful note that it aroused interest in her chorus teacher, “You can sing man; you have a great voice!” Tosh beamed as the memories lit up her eyes. This was the first time someone ever told her that she could sing. Soon after, she was the envy of the group, being given all the solos.

She was captivated and inspired by Whitney Houston after she performed “I Will Always Love You” at the Grammys, and this ignited a burning passion to do what the legendary songstress was doing – electrifying the masses. Tosh said, “I knew then I wanted to do what she was doing”.

She recorded her first single “Tired” on the Smash Riddim, produced by Supa Hype. Since then, she has collaborated with several recording artistes and worked with renowned producers. Tony Kelly, Kool and Dre, Drew Money, Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Jam 2, Baby G, Left Side, Konshens, Vybz Kartel and the most recent, Busta Rhymes, featuring Nicki Minaj on the “Twerk It” hit single, are some of her latest projects.

Pushing the boundaries of her music, mastering and fusing the different genres are Tosh’s keen focus. Her management is spearheaded by the man who has worked with several international names like Usher, Outkast, Chris Brown, Jay Z, none other than Brian Stanley, CEO of Most Incredible Music Group (MIMG). Currently in the pipeline, the team is set on releasing the new single and music video, Right On Time – featured on her upcoming EP, Worth the Wait.

With the popular Jamaican adage “What is fi yuh, cya be un fi yuh” as her mantra she has belted her heart and soul in her EP. She is fast chasing her dreams of international stardom.

Her simple yet edgy style has definitely made her a shoe in for what is to come.
