“I’ve been at Zip since inception, from day one so people trust my judgment musically. Them know when liquid play this it gone! Is a hit because Liquid gave it the go ahead, I’m grateful for that”.
Brucey as he is affectionately known by his immediate family, is a dad, brother, uncle and all around great guy, declining to share who his favorite family member is, he shared fond memories of washing and looking after his uncle’s BMW, memories which drove him owning one.
Long before his own hit singles “Wifey walk out” and “Dweet girl” Liquid partnered to produce hits such as Elephant man’s “crazy hype” and Agent Sasco’s “Girls Gone Wild”.
An age-old love affair with multi-genre music matured into a relationship with production, which yielded him many credits. Now, on the verge of another career altering move, the DJ intendeds to double down on his efforts, both as an artiste and designer. Recentering himself as he hopes to re-launch his brand Liquid Wear with new designs. After well over a decade he admits however that his other passion, architectural drawing would have been his next bet. “If I could do something outside of music, I would draw again. That’s something that I personally always wanted to do and I was good at. So for sure if not music maybe I’d be in engineering or architectural drawing,” he continued.
“I always wanted a BMW, because my introduction to it was seeing my uncle’s, I was the washer boy and I loved it, because I would move it out of the garage to the washing area, wash it and put it right back. So I really got to love the car. I knew because of that I had to get my own”.
Still a dreamer if nothing else Mobay’s son admits he wants to be bigger musically. “I’m working towards it, sometime in the future, everything in my reality once started as a dream so I’ll get there”.
Liquid has traveled extensively through North and Central America, Canada, England, Dubai and the Caribbean. Describing himself as a lover of people, lover of life and a lover of family ZJ liquid continues to be a shining example, a son of the soil and a patriot for the second city of Mobay.
