Toyota Rush

Uber is reportedly coming to our shores. Terms like “co-working” and ‘car-pooling” are now being uttered among Toyota Rushthe professional class with more regularity and more confidence. Freelancers are not getting as many of those sidelong glances as previously. In short, the “gig economy” or “flexi-work” has arrived.
A perfect time therefore, for an “all-segment” carmaker like Toyota to introduce the Rush, a 7-seater compact SUV. Taking some cues from the Daihatsu Terios, (no longer offered in this market), Rush is a 7-seater, powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder motor. On paper, it delivers 77 kW and 136 Nm, and you have the option of either a 5-speed manual gearbox or 4-speed automatic transmission. The Toyota Rush is rear-wheel driven and appears – in the Toyota tradition – to be quite frugal too, with a claimed economy figure of 6.6 Litres per 100 km. The automatic is said to consume 6.7 Litres per100 km (that converts to around 34 miles per gallon).
