She is as graceful and charming, as she is beautiful, almost celestial; very little surprise for a woman with role models such as the iconic Audrey Hepburn, Sandra Foster and Kimberley Mais. She is 22 year old Kaci Fennell, Miss Universe Jamaica 2014, slated to compete with more than 90 ladies in the 63rd Miss Universe Pageant, in Doral, Miami next year.
An astute young lady with intensions to serve her country as a Special Education Teacher, Kaci is an athletic adventurer and fierce competitor, who has traveled various continents on modeling assignments, where she has been empowered with qualities she feels have contributed to her growth as a woman and more wholesome human being.
During her course in the Miss Universe Jamaica competition, she has organized several feeding programmes, which she intends to continue during her reign as Miss Universe Jamaica 2014 with her initiative, #100mouthsamonth.
“It has been an amazing experience thus far, not only because I’m doing what it is I want to do, but because of the reception I have been receiving. I am very well received and it has been amazing…I have a great band of motivators, not just in my family, but outside and I am grateful”.
With a baker as her mom, she is a cookie-cutter foodie and has used this background to contribute through the Jamaican charity, Style For Change which unlike many others, incorporate fine artists and designers, who produce market-exclusive items, with a percentage of profits going toward funding projects. Kaci organized a fabulous bake sale, from which proceeds went to feeding homeless folk in Kingston and its environs.
The eldest of two siblings, it is not very difficult to understand where her maturity comes from. Of her brother, “Mummy Kim” as they sometimes call her, offered that “I’m very protective and I love them. I always want to take care of them, but that’s just the big sister in me.”
“I am very passionate about my family because even after the roughest day, I can come home and they will receive me and they will push me to be the best person I can be, they have shown me how to overcome.”
Her favourite perfume is Yellow, by Versace. She relishes being at home “in my PJs, with a nice fresh mint mask on and a nice piece of apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, watching Game of Thrones.”
Her fierce runway features in the way of sharply defined cheek bones, piercing, yet delicate eyes, long legs and arms have seen her doing exceptionally well on runways and in photo-shoots on and off the Island, notably in South Africa where earlier this year, she was signed to BASE Model Agency.
The 5’ 9” a la mode beauty queen was featured in Miss Universe’s Top 16 Predictions for October-November 2014.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal joint venture, incorporating global grassroots touch, to empower women into being self-confident and their personal best at all times, with the belief that every woman should be “Confidently Beautiful.”
