Christmas 2020 will certainly be a Christmas like no other. With all the uncertainty and craziness, the holidays will remain a time for family and love. Holiday decorating is a tradition to be maintained and enjoyed.
If cash is low, there are numerous other ways of decorating and sprucing up the home this year. Additionally, it’s a fun way to inject creativity and whimsy into your home. As a bonus, DIY decorations are a superb way of getting the kids involved, making memories and moving them away from the rut of looking at screens.
A garland is a charming and simple addition to your décor and may be one of the most quintessential holiday decorations. Garlands can be used on the Christmas tree, over a staircase railing or doorway. It simply involves stringing together items, which could include pom poms, pinecones, candy, popcorn, paper cutouts, dried fruit, dried flowers or even wine corks. If you have young ones, this is great for strengthening fine motor skills.
Leftover paper plates can be reused to make a Christmas tree imitation. Paint the plate, fold to form a cone and glue pom poms on your tree as ornaments.
Cartridge paper, scissors and glue is all you need to make a family handprint Christmas tree. Trace the hands of family members on green cartridge paper and cut them out. Arrange in the shape of a tree, with the largest hands at the base and the smallest hands on top. The kids are sure to find this one exciting!
