Tasha and Tianne Fashions Ja (T&T Fashion) creates unique, multidimensional women’s apparel and accessories that turn heads and stand out in the crowd. Ever since its inception almost twenty-one years ago, Simone Natashi Gordon (Tasha in the name), a talented self-taught Jamaican designer has taken her passion for fashion and transformed it into a full-fledged, successful clothing brand. Buzzz Magazine caught up with Simone to chat about the new summer collections and what persons can expect from T&T Fashion.
Born in the rural parish of St. Mary and raised in the Sunshine City, Portmore, she was able to gain inspiration from embracing the cultural beauty of the island, which shines through her bold, beautiful designs. The mother- daughter run business stemmed from a long line of seamsters and seamstresses. Simone’s love of all things fashion developed at a very early age, as she grew up in a household filled with sewing. Her mother, grandparents, some aunts, and uncles were all in the field and after observing them she soon began to discover her own talent by making miniature pieces to adorn her dolls.
Their previous collections include the Love collection which focused on bright bold colors and putting back the pieces together which utilized small pieces of fabric by sewing them together to create the final outfit. For summer 2022, they are introducing two new innovative collections, Hummingbird and All White.
The Hummingbird collection pays homage to the national bird by drawing from its colors then using the tie dye designs on a black base fabric. Whereas the All-White collection showcases mostly simple, timeless pieces and flowy, breathable white dresses, perfect for daytime outdoor activities and summertime events.
