Take a look in your closet, assess the colours that strike you. Do you have a wide array of colours or are you a one colour scheme kind of person? The next step would be to find out what that colour says about your personality. In Fashion, Chromatics (the science of colours) plays a major role in an individual’s personality, unique style as well as a significant theme for each fashion season. Buzzz Magazine will take a look at eight colours that have a personality, and place in the business and fashion world.

red

Red in fashion usually denotes love and romance. Red has always depicted anger. It affects the nervous system, dilates the pupils and energizes. Red is a powerful colour typically worn by persons seeking attention. A daring, alluring red negligee; a red jacket; red, patent leather pumps are just some options to get you noticed. So, if you have a big personality and huge amounts of self-confidence, this is definitely the colour for you.

blue

Calm seas, blue skies, serene, peaceful, tranquil and trusting are typically what the colour Blue symbolizes. It can make people feel comfortable and usually, having a lot of blue in your closet will denote a trusting personality. Wow your interviewer with that Blue Power suit. Wearing blue on an interview will demonstrate loyalty to your interviewer, which might very well ensure you get that job.

yellow

One would think wearing the colour yellow would say you are a happy person. However, as the brightest of all colours, yellow is the most difficult to look at. Yellow represents creativity, energy and optimism, but it can also over stimulate the senses and evoke a bad temper. Soft pastel colours in yellow are safer to wear, it’s still cheery and allows you to stand apart from the crowd. Pastel yellow is ideal for a night on the town to catch that perfect mate. Think accessories, accessories, accessories; grab that pastel yellow scarf, the fashion necklace or that popping bracelet, just to have a hint of yellow.

black

Sophisticated and sexy, in 2016 we are doing away with the dull, foreboding, ominous meaning behind the colour black. Black is classy and uber slimming; every woman should have that sassy little black dress that hugs and fits every curve. In fashion, the shade Black (yes, black is not considered a colour but a shade), is safe to wear as it allows the individual to go unnoticed; however, in the business world it represents authority and respect, like judges, businesspeople and police officers.
