Fashion trends come and go, some even make a comeback, but style remains forever timeless. The evolution of male fashion has seen possibly the most significant transformation throughout the years. Long gone are the days when a man’s masculinity is solidified in fashion by dark colours and rough textures. Today, men across the globe have become incredibly style-conscious, and the traditional forms of male fashion have been replaced by bright colours, avant-garde designs, and tailored apparel.
A popular trend among male style mavens has been the bold introduction of pink to their ensemble. Pink has always been, for as far back as I can remember, a colour associated with girls and femininity. The discussion on masculinity has always been an interesting point of conversation. One’s masculinity has ever been measured by how he acts, his interests and desires, and how he dresses. You would run the risk of having your masculinity questioned if you were ever seen wearing anything pink. The only time a young man would not be scrutinized for having any pink in his wardrobe came when the colour became synonymous with supporting breast cancer charities. Times are, however, evolving, and the lines, which once highlighted one’s masculinity, have been redrawn.
Far less now, than in previous times will you be viewed in question, sporting pink apparel, unless you’ve gone overboard; even celebrities have embraced the pink craze like athletes Lebron James and Cristiano Ronaldo who have been seen decked in the stylish shade. Other celebrities like singer Pharrel, NFL star Tim Tebow and actors Taye Diggs, Ice-T, and Terry Cruise have all made fashion statements wearing pink.
