Despite his many years in the business, the musician shows no signs of slowing down as he hopes to be remembered in music and in Jamaica as a positively conscious artist

Roots Reggae artist Stafford Elliot, who goes by the stage name “Fred Locks” has enjoyed over 50 years in the music industry writing and recording conscious and uplifting reggae music.

The sixty-nine-year-old musician is widely known for the 1970s hit single “Black Star Liner” and album of the name. After migrating to the United States, the artist continued to release music which gained him notoriety in the United States, Africa, Europe and parts of the Caribbean. Despite his extensive international journey, the musician felt stagnant in his music and decided to return to his roots to continue his musical passion.

Despite his many years in the business, the musician shows no signs of slowing down as he hopes to be remembered in music and in Jamaica as a positively conscious artist whose music is as entertaining as it is uplifting. Fred is currently working on several projects as he promotes this EP and hopes to reignite his career in Jamaica and work with other popular artists; Sanchez being one of the artists named as a hopeful collaboration in the future.
