Google has unveiled its secret drone delivery project, Project Wing in Australia, that has been in the work for two years.
The drones are pre-programmed with a destination, but then left to fly themselves there automatically.
Google envisions the drone being used for disaster relief to isolated areas due to extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes, floods, volcanic activities…
The project was initially planned to be used for heart attack victims who would need life saving medicine. It was Google’s thinking that this medicine could deliver the medicine faster than ambulances.
The project is still in testing phases but signs look positive with the drone able to deliver packages to remote farms in Queensland, Australia.
