Kick-starting the first review for this new exciting column is Eden Gardens, a unique oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of Kingston Town. This is a must visit spa, which will leave you coming back for more.
Greeted with a smile and offered a refreshing glass of in-fused water upon entry, my spa treatment at Eden Gardens commenced with a bang or should I say a huge exhale. The streets of Kingston is no joke and unlike most folks, I do not drive so whenever I arrive somewhere having used buses and taxis and I can immediately relax; it’s a winner for me! Gentle, relaxing, unwinding music serenades the reception along with the aroma of peace – lavender calms your inner-mind. I opted for the Eden Signature plus a Teeth Whitening treatment while my partner in pampering and fellow Virgonian, Janet, who is always on the go, received a Zen Massage and a Genesis Facial. We loved it! In fact, we both fell asleep unashamedly for more than an hour like Virgos in a pot; our experience was divine.
The verdict….
Eden Signature Massage
Asked if I had any objections with a male masseuse, I absolutely did not! I am not one of those women who object to male masseuse. Gender should not matter when it comes to healing hands. You either have them or you don’t; and in this case, Jermaine Ritchie most absolutely had them!!!
The Eden Signature started with what felt like soft, silk, swirly circles on my aching body starting from my shoulders down my back – upper, middle and lower. As the strokes got bigger my tension evaporated until I became comatose. Kneading away, the tender swirls became more intense and better.
Then just as I was about to hit the Zs, I came back round to life after a penetrating heat touched my skin and warm oil smothered my pores releasing my hidden stresses. Hot stones followed, strategically placed on my meridian points. I surrendered – Oh la la – and fell asleep drifting in and out of consciousness, while my feet and toes were being pulled and my hands and fingers were being twirled. At one point I remember being awake as my head was prompt up and turned softly to the left and then to the right – what a mind-blowing neck release!
Another great thing about this experience was the hot towel placed under my back when I was turned over and the tummy rubbed. Unknown to my ‘healing hands,’ I was on my moon cycle so every circulation made on my stomach brought utter joy, love and happiness to my abdomen….Thank you!
Overall I recommend a trip to the spa at the ‘Garden of Eden’. This is the perfect remedy to forget about all the woes of life in a big city. It’s perfect for all Kingstonians and visitors to the Capital! My masseuse’s hands not only left a signature on my tired body but surely brought it back to life; so too my mind and soul.
