he stalwart and innovators, British Caribbean Insurance Company Limited (BCIC) recently launched its “Easy” Campaign, making it easier and more attractive for customers to purchase insurance. On June 18, 2015, BCIC announced their new and improved MAX private motor policy which includes the added benefits such as the No Fault Discount, Rental Car Benefit and New Vehicle Replacement.

Since 1962, BCIC has been providing property and motor vehicle insurance to many Jamaicans. These products are offered through BCIC’s head office, branches and a number of brokers and agents islandwide. The company is known for its financial strengths, underwriting expertise, tailoring its products to meet the needs of its customers and providing outstanding claims service.

With its competitive edge and new innovation, BCIC is excited to boast about being the first general insurance company to introduce the No Fault Discount. With this new feature, customers are guaranteed, in specified claims situations, to keep their discount once the accident is proven to be no fault of the policy holder; that is where the customer does not make an at-fault claim.

On the other hand, with the former No Claim Discount, if a customer met in an accident or encountered other peril whether or not it is their fault, the customer would be fined a higher premium at their next renewal due to loss or reduction of their discount. “With this new feature BCIC is expected to be flooded with new clients and our customer loyalty will be enhanced by such,” anticipated Michelle Anderson, Business Development and Sales Manager. “This will also allow more people to report accidents and file a claim without the fear of being charged a higher premium at their next renewal,’’ added Ms. Anderson.

The concept of the No Fault Discount came about after a BCIC policy holder filed a claim and complained about the irrationality of the No Claims Discount.
