Love Nurtured Is Love Preserved

If Valentine’s Day is the only day you show your Empress or King, time, love and affection, you don’t need telling you may be in big trouble. However, if you would like to use this day to rekindle or affirm your feelings to someone special, here are a few afro-romantic pointers to ensure a memorable day.

Re-enact your first date

There’s a good chance that the beginning of your relationship was the time when you made the most effort to show your afro-romantic side, so why not turn back the clock and remind your partner how charming you were when you were first dating?

Think back to your first special date, make a reservation at the same place, eat the same food and reminisce about how you felt about each other when you first met. Do the same things that first sparked the initial flame.

Food Juices Flowing

You love food and think that no celebration is complete without some juices flowing? Well, instead of burning a hole in your pocket on dining on a posh bistro, try out the local food hot spots. Hit the roadside food stalls for appetizers, flop down on the local lounge for cocktails and hit a traditional Caribbean restaurant for a hearty meal. Or why not cook for each other. Cooking together is another great option for lovey dovey mates willing to spend some great time together on Valentine’s Day. The cue is to get adventurous and whip up something new and untried. Turn on the music, play with the ingredients and storm up a delight. And yes, don’t forget to relish your spoils once you are done.

Don’t Get Up!

A home-stay date is a must especially as this Valentine’s Day falls on Friday, so you can arrange to take Friday off or plan a free all-day Saturday following an afro-romantic night before. Snuggling up in each other’s arms isn’t really a bad idea – just pull down the blinds, switch off the mobile phones, set the champagne bottle on ice, get some snacks, pull on the comforters and you are all set for some awesome time ahead. Don’t rush, opt for having a leisurely morning and day in bed, cuddling together, playing footsie or whatever else tickles your fancy.

Love Letter

Who can resist love letters? Channel your inner Paul Dunbar (famous black poet) and send your partner a love letter. You can send the letters to the house or to the office. If you prefer, you can hide the notes in various places for him/her to find such as a coat pocket, lunch bag, and wallet or inside the car. Use your imagination and find unusual places for the letters to be hidden. As a general rule, women will like love letters that are sensual. They should be about how beautiful she is, how amazing she is, her characteristics, and other pleasing aspects of her personality, beauty, and character. Men, generally, will like to hear about their smart brains, sexual prowess, their amazing muscles, and how incredible they are.

Get Physical

No, not that kind of ‘physical’. With any luck, that’s where your Valentine’s Day date will end up, but you can start things off by getting your heart rates racing together doing something exciting like going to an amusement park or going motorcycling.

Never mind if you don’t have a local river nearby, you can always go on a fun trip to kindle the AfroRomance. Just grab a map and randomly pick up any place that looks intriguing and plan a quick daytrip. Not only will it leave you with some quality time together, but also make for a great mystery trip plus the idea is to enjoy a little activity and get those endorphins flowing, which is proven to leave you both in loving moods.
