Why A Man Needs A Good Woman

good-woman

It is often said that behind every good man is a good woman. True, false? Sometimes, most times? What do you think? Well, having carried out an informal survey across eight parishes, with different males and females of varying ages and socio-economic status, one line was constant, “boy this is a very good topic.” or “Excellent!”

The new International Webster’s Pocket Dictionary describes a woman as,“an adult female human.” Victor Hugo through his answer posits, “Men have sight but, women have insight.” I have often heard that a woman does not choose a man because she loves him but, because it pleases her to be loved by him; interesting! A beautiful woman is a jewel; a good woman is a treasure, and that subtle power she commands, can enable a man to fall into her arms without falling into her hands. Wow!

“A good man needs a good woman, a helpmate, to assist him emotionally, physically, and spiritually,” says Tomy Pullim – a Texas based Psychologist, who spoke to Buzzz Magazine. According to Pullim, the woman gives that emotional neurological connection that makes him complete. Jamie Beller, a minister from Oaklahoma, USA, who also spoke to Buzzz Magazine, reminds me that Adam at some point was alone and that was not good. A man needs that good woman for relationship, companionship and procreation. That support energises him because what she gives, only she alone can provide it. Having read a lot of Shakespeare novels, it reminds me of the sentiments “O woman lovely woman! Nature made thee to temper man: we have been brutes without you.”Also, as for women, though we scorn ‘em,’ we may live with but, cannot live without ‘em.’

A man requires the presence of a good woman in his life to affirm him when he is down, to push gently or at times hard to lift him up. The man needs a good parenting partner to share life skills for the greater good of the children and other family members. We cannot lose sight of the fact that a man needs nurturing, care, comfort and help to affirm his role as a good father.

I fully support psychologists’ reminder that to reach self-actualisation, man has many needs such as self-esteem, love security, sex and shelter. In today’s high-tech, fast-moving and globalised world environment; a woman is a good factor to help him along, whether by free will or by force. It is also said that a man thinks with his eyes and ‘dick’, while a woman thinks with her heart and soul.
