Be Optimistic

The optimistic individual is not blinded by a negative attitude toward life. He or she is happier, healthier and often a better problem solver than most, open to all possibilities.

“I am going to handle this thing you know” quips Patricia Davidson, who was laid off after total closure of the Railway Service. At first she says, “I asked how I am ever going to make it. Then I said if it comes to it, I am going to find something new.” And she did, by going into the world of commerce. “I stared small, but I am growing”. Optimists are of the view that things will improve. They turn whatever bad situations they face, into an advantage.

Introspect

Success in coping depends on consistently and accurately analyzing your situation. The reality for Beverly Brown meant fighting to keep her home in the face of a difficult divorce. Her husband was determined to deny her any proceeds from over 11 years of marriage. Alone, depressed and invariably under tremendous financial pressure, she examined her situation and concluded that she must stand up for herself.  She accepted the job of working seven days per week at a local eatery. Facing up to the demands of her new situation, helped Beverly cope.
