Places you Never Thought to Paint but Should Places you Never Thought to Paint but Should

At least once a year we take the time to re-decorate or “spruce up” our homes. In Jamaica, for example, the most popular time of year we choose to do so is during the Christmas season. There is the usual unveiling of new curtains, new bedspreads and even new furniture; but there is that one thing we need to bring the house alive and that is PAINT.

We are all familiar with the usual places to paint: the walls inside, the walls outside and maybe the windows, if we are up to it. However, there are details that we often miss- areas that go unnoticed. Here are some places you never thought to paint but should:

Inside the door of a Bedroom
Depending on the colour of your bedroom walls, choose to paint the inside of the bedroom door. Consider a bright green bedroom door to complement lavender walls, for example.

Inside drawers and cabinets
Why not add some colour to boost the appearance of these frequently used places? If the outside of the cabinet is brown or white, a nice shade of yellow, buttercup or even gold can enhance the interior and bring that space to life.

Closet interiors
Closet spaces can be inspiring and set the right tone for your day. It is, therefore, a good idea to brighten your closet with a splash of paint. Imagine how motivated you will feel greeting a bright blue closet, for instance, when choosing your work outfits. This would surely bring a twist to the Monday morning blues!

Ceilings are places often overlooked but will quickly add freshness to any room. Be sure to include them in your next painting project. Burnt orange, sky blue or even Limon cello are great colours to consider.
